Pairing a MainPOS
Overview
A MainPOS is activated with an activation code issued by the platform. You receive the code after your device request is accepted (see Devices). Enter the code once on the tablet — the device pairs, pulls all the data the till needs (menus, products, users, payment options), and is ready to sign in.
Requirements
- A device requested and accepted in POS Admin → Devices (you receive an email when it’s activated)
- The device’s 6-character activation code
- The tablet connected to the internet
Steps
Have the activation code ready
Find the activation code on the device’s row in POS Admin → Devices. The code appears only after the request is accepted.
The activation code is secret — don’t share it. It’s generated only once and stays this device’s code: the same code re-activates the same device later, including at another location. To get a new code, contact support to rotate it.
Choose Main POS Activation
On the tablet’s Device Activation screen, choose Main POS Activation.
Enter the activation code
Type the 6-character activation code and confirm.
Wait for the initial data
Once the code is accepted, the device pairs and pulls its initial data — menus, products, users, and settings. When it finishes, the till is ready to sign in.
Notes
After pairing, the MainPOS connects to the cloud and keeps its data current through sync.
Reinstalled the app on the same device? If the code shows as already paired, use the Re-activate this device button that appears — it reclaims the code so you can pair again without a new one.
Troubleshooting
Code not found? Check the typing, and confirm the device request was accepted in Devices — a device with no activation code hasn’t been activated yet.
“This device code is already paired with another location”? If this is the same device being set up again, tap Re-activate this device. If another device is using the code, unpair it first.
Code deactivated, expired, or subscription expired? Contact support to renew or rotate the code.
