Discounts
Overview
Discounts reduce an order total by a percentage or a fixed amount. You can scope each discount to specific products, locations, customers, or payment options.
Requirements
- Permission to view discounts
- Permission to create discounts
Steps
Open Discounts
From the sidebar, go to Marketing → Discounts.
Add a discount
Click the Add New Discount button to open the form.
Set name, type, and value
Enter a Title, choose the Type (Percentage or Fixed Amount), and set the Value, the Start Date - End Date, and the Minimum Order Value. Leave Code empty to generate one automatically.
Apply Tax Before Discount Option
Use the Tax before discount checkbox. When enabled, VAT is calculated on the original price before the discount, so the full pre-discount tax is kept and the customer still pays it. When disabled (default), VAT is calculated on the discounted price.
Save
Click Create at the top right of the form to add the discount. It appears in the Discounts list.
Choose where it applies
Click the discount in the list to open its details page. Turn on Apply on Specific Products, Apply on Specific Locations, Apply on Specific Customers, or Apply on Specific Payment Options to limit the discount to the products, locations, customers, and payment options you choose.
Notes
To change an existing discount, click ⋯ at the end of its row: Edit, Disable, or Delete. To change several at once, select their rows. See Working with lists.
A discount with no scope set applies broadly. Add associations to limit it to specific products, locations, customers, or payment options.
Troubleshooting
If a discount is not applied at the POS, confirm its scope includes the order’s products, location, and payment option, and that the device has synced.
