KDS
Overview
The KDS settings page lists the KDS screens added to this location in POS Admin, and lets you configure how each one receives orders. You can’t add a KDS from this page — a KDS device is requested from the Devices page and assigned to a location there. Once assigned, it shows up here on the MainPOS; until then, it won’t appear.
This settings tab only appears on a MainPOS. A SubPOS device doesn’t show KDS settings at all — only the MainPOS can configure KDS screens.
Requirements
- A MainPOS device (not a SubPOS)
- A KDS device requested and accepted in POS Admin → Devices
- That device assigned to this location — see Locations
- The KDS screen’s local IP address
Steps
Open KDS settings
Open Settings → KDS to see the KDS Screens table — name, IP address, whether it’s paired, and its connection status.
Open a screen’s options
Click the three dots at the end of the row — scroll right if you need to — to see Edit Data and Connect.
Set the screen’s IP address
Tap Edit Data. Under Screen IP Address, type the KDS device’s local IP address.
Choose the order types
Under Order Types, select All, or only the order types this screen should receive — for example Delivery, Dine In, Pick Up. This is useful when you run more than one KDS screen for different order types.
Choose which cashiers send here
Under Cashiers, select All, or only the specific devices (like the MainPOS or a SubPOS) whose orders should go to this screen. Use this if you have more than one KDS screen and want, for example, the MainPOS to send to one screen and a SubPOS to send to another.
Save
Tap Update to save the screen’s settings.
Notes
Troubleshooting
A KDS screen you expect isn’t listed here? Confirm it was requested and accepted in Devices and assigned to this location.
A screen shows Disconnected? Check that its IP address is correct and that it’s on and reachable on the local network.
