Vouchers
Overview
Vouchers allow customers to receive discounts by providing a valid voucher code to a staff member. The staff member enters the code while creating the customer’s order in the POS application, and the discount is applied automatically. You can configure validity dates, usage limits, and restrict each voucher to specific products, locations, customers, order types, order channels, or payment methods.
Requirements
- Permission to view vouchers
Steps
Open Vouchers
From the sidebar, go to Marketing → Vouchers.
Add a voucher
Click Add New Voucher to open the form.
Set code, value, validity, and limits
Enter a Title and the Voucher Code customers will give to staff. Choose the Type (Percentage or Fixed Amount) and set the Value, then set the Start Date - End Date. Optionally, set Usage (total number of uses), Usage Per User, Up To (the maximum discount amount), Minimum Order Value, and Apply On Hours - From / To. Leave Code empty to generate one automatically.
Apply Before Tax Option
Use the Apply before tax checkbox. When enabled (default), the voucher is applied before tax like a promo coupon: it lowers the taxable amount, so the VAT goes down with it. When disabled, the voucher acts as an after-tax gift card / cash credit: the full VAT is still charged and reported to the government, and the voucher only reduces the amount the customer pays at checkout.
Save
Click Create at the top right of the form to add the voucher. It appears in the Vouchers list.
Choose applicability
Click the voucher in the list to open its details page. Turn on Apply on Specific Products, Apply on Specific Locations, Apply on Specific Customers, Apply on Specific Order Types, Apply on Specific Order Channels, or Apply on Specific Payment Options to limit where the voucher can be used.
Notes
To change an existing voucher, click ⋯ at the end of its row: Edit, Disable, or Delete. To change several at once, select their rows. See Working with lists.
Voucher usage syncs to POS devices, so usage limits are enforced across all devices once sync completes.
Troubleshooting
If a code is rejected at the POS, confirm it is within its validity dates, under its usage limit, and in scope for the order, then allow the device to sync.
