Device Type
Overview
On first launch the app asks you to choose the device’s role. This decides whether the device acts as the primary till that talks to the cloud, or as a secondary till that connects to another till on the local network.
Requirements
- A tablet with the Eatabill POS Application installed
- For a SubPOS: a MainPOS already set up on the same local network
Steps
Open the app
Launch the Eatabill POS Application. On first launch it opens the Device Type Selection screen.
Choose the device type
Select MainPOS for the primary till (it connects directly to the cloud), or SubPOS for a secondary till (it connects to a MainPOS over the local network).
Continue to pairing
Confirm your choice to continue. A MainPOS goes on to pairing; a SubPOS goes on to connecting.
Notes
A location’s first or primary till is the MainPOS. Additional tills at the same location run as SubPOS devices.
Troubleshooting
If you picked the wrong device type, reset the device from Settings and choose again at the Device Type Selection screen.
