Delivery Zones
Overview
A delivery zone consists of areas. You create a zone (with a title and city), add the areas it covers, then assign the zone to a location with its delivery fee. When taking a delivery order, the customer’s zone and area determine the delivery fee shown on the order.
Requirements
- Permission to view delivery zones
Steps
Add a delivery zone
Open Manage → Delivery zones, then click the Add New Delivery Zone button.
Name the zone
In the Add New Zone window, type the Title and City — for example “Fifth Settlement” and “New Cairo”. The Code is optional; leave it empty to generate one automatically.
Create
Click Create at the top right of the window to add the zone.
Open the zone details
Click the zone’s row in the table to open its details page. Here you’ll find the Zone Data card and, below it, the Areas section. You can also edit the zone data from this page with the Edit Zone Data button.
Add areas
In the Areas section, add the areas the zone covers.
Click Add New Area
Name the area
In the Add New Area window, type the area Title — for example “South Academy”. A new empty row appears automatically, so you can add several areas at once. The Code is optional. Click Save at the top right when you’re done.
The areas appear in the zone’s Areas list.
Assign the zone to a location with a fee
Go to the Locations page, click the location’s row, scroll to the Delivery Zones section at the bottom of the page, and click Add New Delivery Zone. In the window, select the zone you created (by its Code or Title), type its delivery fee in Fees, and click Save. You can add several zones at once — a new empty row appears after each one.
Notes
To change an existing delivery zone, click ⋯ at the end of its row: Edit, Disable, or Delete. To change several at once, select their rows. See Working with lists.
Once the location syncs the new data, the POS App can use the zone. When you create a Delivery order and enter the customer’s information with their zone and area, the delivery fee appears on the order sidebar.
The delivery fee is set per location — the same zone can have a different fee at different locations.
Troubleshooting
No delivery fee on an order? Confirm the zone is assigned to the location with a fee, the customer’s zone and area are selected, and the POS device has synced.
A zone isn’t available at a location? Confirm it has been added to that location from the Locations page.
