Delivery Orders
Overview
A delivery order works like any other order, with three extras: it always needs a customer and a delivery address, it carries a delivery fee that you can change for the order, and you can record the carrier (driver) who takes it out. The customer’s saved addresses are kept with the customer, so returning customers only need their phone number.
Requirements
- Logged in to the POS app, with the business day started
- The Delivery order type enabled for the location, with delivery zones set up so addresses can be picked
Steps
Start a delivery order
Tap Add New Order, choose Delivery, then pick the order channel (for example Phone). The Add Customer Data dialog opens straight away — for delivery it can’t be skipped.
Find or add the customer
Type the customer’s phone number under Customer Phone. Matching customers appear as you type — tap one to fill in their name and saved addresses. For a new customer, type the full number and their name under Customer Name. You can also add an Order Note for the whole order.
To correct an existing customer’s details, tap Edit Customer Data.
Add or choose the address
For a new customer, or a new address, tap Add New Address and fill in:
- Zone and Area — picked from the location’s delivery zones.
- Street.
- Landmark, Building, Apartment, and Floor — optional.
Tap Save.
Back in the customer dialog, the address appears under Customer Addresses with a checkbox. Tick the one to deliver to — tap the pencil icon on an address to edit it. Then tap Next.
Build the order
Add items as usual — see Taking Orders. The customer card at the top of the cart shows the customer’s name and phone, the order type, the channel, and the delivery address. Tap the pencil icon on the card to change the customer, address, order type, or channel.
The totals at the bottom include the Delivery Fee for the order.
Change the delivery fee (optional)
Tap Change next to Delivery Fee to set a different fee for this order. In Add Custom Delivery Fees, type the new amount under Delivery Fees, choose a Reason, add a Note if needed, and tap Apply.
Assign the carrier
Open the order from Active Orders (or Order History once it’s paid) and scroll to Carrier Information. It shows No Carrier until one is set — tap the pencil icon.
Type the carrier’s phone under Carrier Phone — carriers you’ve used before appear as you type — and their name under Carrier Name, then tap Assign Carrier.
The carrier’s name and phone now show on the order. Tap the pencil icon again to change the carrier.
Take payment
Tap Pay as usual — see Payment.
Notes
Addresses are saved with the customer, so the next time they order you only need to type their phone number and tick an address.
The carrier can’t be changed on orders from a closed business day — those orders are view-only.
Fees like a service fee also show a Change link in the totals — see Order Actions.
Troubleshooting
“You can’t pay without customer data” or “You can’t pay without customer address”? Tap the pencil icon on the customer card and add the customer and tick a delivery address, then tap Pay again.
No zones or areas to choose from? Delivery zones are set up in POS Admin → Delivery Zones. Sync the device after they’re added — see Syncing.
