Printers

Overview

The Printers settings page lets you add and manage the receipt printers connected to this device. Each printer is added by its IP address and assigned a print format — you can have separate printers for customer receipts, kitchen tickets, and dispatching, or one printer set to handle all of them.

Requirements

  • Logged in on the device
  • A receipt printer powered on and reachable on the network by its IP address

Steps

Open Printers settings

Open Settings → Printers to see the printers configured on this device.

Settings → Printers.

Add a printer

Tap Add Printer, then enter a Printer Name (whatever you want to call it) and its IP Address.

Name the printer and enter its IP address.

Choose the print format

Set the Print Format — select All if this one printer should handle everything, or choose only the formats it should print: Customer Format, Kitchen Format, Dispatching Format. This lets you assign different printers to different formats, for example one printer for customer receipts and another for the kitchen.

Choose All, or specific formats for this printer.

Save and connect

Tap Save & Connect. The app connects to the printer automatically and adds it to the table, with its name, IP address, print format, and a statusConnected, or Disconnected if it can’t be reached.

The printer's status shows whether it's reachable.

Manage a printer

Tap the three dots at the end of a printer’s row to Test Connection, Edit, or Delete it.

Test Connection, Edit, or Delete.

Notes

Printing happens on this device itself — each device keeps its own printer setup.

A cash drawer connects through a printer, not directly to the device. Once the printer is added here by its IP address, Open Cash Drawer can open it.

Troubleshooting

A printer shows Disconnected? Confirm its IP address is correct and it’s powered on and reachable on the network, then use Test Connection from its three-dot menu.

Nothing prints for a specific format? Check that a printer is assigned to that print format — Customer, Kitchen, or Dispatching — and that it’s connected.
