Sales Report

Overview

The Sales Report breaks your sales down any way you need — by location, item, category, payment method, order type, order channel, menu, or time (day, week, month, hour) — for any period. You can add a second grouping, filter it, choose which columns to show, see each figure as a chart, and print or export it. Its figures are the same ones the Overview uses.

Requirements

  • Permission to view the Overview (the Sales Report uses the same permission)

Steps

Open the Sales Report

From the sidebar, click Sales Report. It opens for Today, broken down by Locations, with summary cards at the top and the report table below.

You can also open it from the Overview: the arrow next to Order Types, Order Channels, or Payment methods opens the report already broken down that way, for the same dates.

The Sales Report.

Choose what the report is for

In Sales report for, choose how to break down your sales: Locations, Items, Category, Payment methods, Order Types, Order Channel, Days, Week, Month, Hour, or Menus. Each row of the table is then one of those, with a Grand total at the bottom.

Choose how to break down sales.

Items, Category, and Menus look at the items sold rather than whole orders, so they show fewer columns — taxes, fees, discounts, and vouchers belong to the whole order and can’t be split between items. Payment methods shows the payment figures only.

Add a second grouping

In Group by, pick a second breakdown to see inside each row — for example Locations grouped by Order Types shows each branch with its dine-in, pick-up, and delivery sales underneath. Choose None to turn it off.

Filter the report

Click Filters to include only some sales — by Location, Order type, Payment, Sales channel, Product, Category, Customer, Employee, Status, or Currency.

Narrow the report down.

Pick the dates

Click the date box to choose the period. Use a shortcut (Yesterday, Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, This year), or pick a start date and an end date, then click Apply selection.

Choose the period.

Read the summary and the table

The cards at the top total the period: Gross Sales Amount, Number of Orders, Sold Items Count, Return Amount, Return Count, and Net Payments. The table below has a row for each location (or item, day, and so on) and a Grand total. Click a column header to sort by it.

Choose the columns

Click Edit table columns and tick the figures you want to see. There are more than thirty — from Number of Orders, Gross Sales, and Net Sales to Fees, Vouchers, Refunds, Void Orders, Cancelled after payment, and Compliments.

See how a figure is calculated

Under the table, How is it calculated? lists the main figures. Click one to see what it means and how it’s worked out from your actual numbers. See What the figures mean below.

Show a chart

Click the chart button next to the date box to show the report as a chart above the table. Click it again to hide it.

Click Print to print the report as it’s shown, or Export CSV to download it as a spreadsheet file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.

Notes

The Sales Report and the Overview use the same figures, so the totals always match for the same dates and branch. The time breakdowns (Days, Week, Month, Hour) add up to the Grand total, because every order belongs to exactly one day and hour.

Troubleshooting

If the report is empty, widen the dates, clear the Filters, and make sure your POS devices are online and synced. If a column you expect is missing, check Edit table columns — and remember that Items, Category, and Menus show fewer columns.
