Categories
Overview
Categories organize your products and support nesting, so you can build a parent/child hierarchy that mirrors how your catalog is structured.
Requirements
- Permission to view categories
- Permission to create categories
Steps
Open Categories
Open Categories from the sidebar.
Add a category
Select Add category.
Fill in the details
In the Add Category form:
- Language — choose the language you’re entering the title and description in (English or Arabic). To add the title in both languages, save it once per language.
- Category Code (optional) — a code for the category.
- Category Title (optional) — the category name.
- Category Description (optional) — a short description.
There’s no parent field here — a category created from this form is top-level. To nest one, open a category first and add from inside it (see Create a child category below).
Save
Save the category to add it to the list.
View Products that in this category
Click the eye icon for the desired category in the category table to view the products that are assigned with that category.
Create a child category
Click on the Category row to go into this category and create a child category for the selected category, then click on the Add category button.
this will take you you to the child category page, where you can create a child category for the selected category. In Our example, we are creating a child category for the “Sauces” category.
you will notice the hierarchy in the page Data > Categories > Sauces (0)
then click on add category and enter a name and save
Notes
Categories can be nested into a hierarchy, with parent and child categories at multiple levels.
Troubleshooting
If a category cannot be deleted, make sure no products or child categories are still assigned to it.
